Not only will you leverage your experience and ideas to define and implement world-class pricing and revenue management processes, you will also play a crucial role in building up the organization’s expertise in this area, and be part of a growing team of ambitious marketing, pricing and revenue management professionals!
Last but not least, they are in the process of building a state-of-the-art pricing and revenue management platform with the first business releases expected in the second half of 2019. The platform will be powered by the latest technologies including AI machine learning models and be built in agile fashion using a leading low-code software development platform.
Beyond the initial roll-out of our new pricing processes and platform, you will take on a fully-fledged Pricing and (Revenue/Yield) Optimization Manager role. Objective of the role is to support STC’s accelerated growth strategy with world-class pricing, and maximize profits through reduced price variation and maximized willingness-to-pay.

Key responsibilities:
- In close collaboration with the regional commercial organizations, identify preferred mix (customers, segments, long- vs short-term contracts, etc.) per market, identify target markets to grow, track market trends
- Define pricing strategies (per segment, geography, etc.) in support of STC’s overall strategy
- Run pricing simulations, tune the AI machine learning models and set transactional pricing rules (floor and ceiling prices, auto-manage exceptions, etc.)
- Perform analytics, including but not limited to: competition product offerings and pricing, performance and profitability of segments, geographies, customers and contracts, financial impact of pricing actions
- Work and communicate closely – partly through planned recurring interactions - with frontline commercial staff to stay abreast of relevant market conditions and developments
- Combine market conditions and developments with hard facts and operational data, by monitoring demand, booking pick-up and inventory levels across the different markets and define short-term pricing tactics and actions
- Establish (pricing) criteria to achieve reduced price variation and maximized willingness-to-pay
- Develop price communication policies
- Perform tender contract pricing and provide tender pricing support to the commercial frontline
- Maintain price lists for additional value-added services, standard and customer-specific demurrage and detention terms, etc.
- Continuously improve pricing processes to ensure fast responses to changing market conditions and optimal use of internal resources
- Work closely with Vendor Management to ensure accurate costing input to pricing
Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Pricing & Quoting Product Owner to identify and document future enhancements to the pricing and quoting processes and platform.
Qualifications
We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic pricing and revenue/yield management professionals with a strong strategic and analytical mind, and an ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing across different levels and departments. Self-starters with a hands-on approach, a good sense of prioritization and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- A deep understanding of and experience with pricing and revenue/yield management processes
- At least 5+ years’ experience in a high-impact pricing and/or revenue/yield management role, preferably in a B2B transport and logistics setting, and a proven track record of strong results
- A master’s degree in marketing, business administration, mathematics or similar
- A good sense of finance and accounting principles
- Strong knowledge of analytical tools such as R-Studio, Power-BI and MS Excel/Access
