Position
This international company  is in the process of creating a fully aligned digital sales environment focusing on solution and crop-oriented sales. This will help to become more data driven and will support their company goals to achieve sustainable profitable growth and to create business-oriented IT platforms, business processes and organizational structure. The Pricing Specialist fits well within this ambition and is a new position within this company. The Pricing Specialist will become a member of the Global Sales Management Team.

The role of the Pricing Specialist is focussing on 3 main elements with the main purpose of driving margin improvement opportunities:
    1. Coordination Pricing & Pricing Analysis
    2. Performance Monitoring
    3. Contract Office      

The role
  • Set up and maintain pricing organization, processes and tools.
  • Coordinate periodic pricing rounds in close cooperation with other departments.
  • Conduct in-depth commercial and pricing analyses to identify opportunities for pricing optimization and value-based pricing strategies.
  • Develop and implement pricing policies and procedures that maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing and team solution support to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide pricing guidance and recommendations to sales management, including pricing models, pricing structures, and price sensitivity analysis.
  • Monitor pricing performance and make recommendations for adjustments as appropriate.
  • Analyse and report on pricing trends, market conditions and competitive intelligence to support pricing decisions.
  • Manage and maintain pricing databases and pricing tools, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Focus on margin improvement actions and implementation.
  • Initiate or participate in improvement projects.
  • Reporting on volumes, sales, deviation from list price status, and margins to sales management, product management and segment management.

Position of the role
  • The Pricing Specialist will report directly to the Chief Sales Officer.
  • The role can be considered as an independent role and is separated from the operational core roles such as Sales, Marketing and Product Management.
  • The Pricing Specialist will both support and challenge Sales Management and Team Solution Support.
  • Clear alignment and close collaboration with Business Controllers, Sales Managers, Product Managers, Segment Managers and Marketing.

This company is headquartered in The Netherlands, is a global leading supplier of environmentally friendly propagation systems, hydroponic systems, growing containers and substrates for the horticultural industry.

They operates production locations in Canada, Denmark, Estonia and Norway, producing substrate mixes, peat pots and pellet propagation systems. These operations are strategically located near the peat bogs. In addition, they produces Preforma plant plugs in the Netherlands, USA, Spain and Japan and a complete line of coir products at their own facilities in Sri Lanka. The team exists of approx. 1500 employees.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Commercial Economics
  • Fluent in English (minimal B2 level)  
  • Relevant experience in pricing strategy development, commercial and pricing analysis, and market research.
  • Understanding of Solution / Application Sales
  • Familiarity with pricing processes, tools and database management
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and mathematical modelling
  • Project Management skills and experience
